The Flora in the heart of the botanical garden in Cologne recently celebrated its 150th anniversary. For generations the restaurant of the same name has been a top venue in Cologne, a city that is not short of attractive locations. On the occasion of the anniversary the Flora restaurant recently reopened following extensive restoration. The installation of state-of-the-art kitchen exhaust air technology was one element of the conversion work.
Plans for the revitalisation of the building fabric and technical building equipment such as sanitary facilities, air conditioning, electrical installations, security and fire protection equipment started in 2009 with consideration of all rules governing listed buildings, and work commenced in mid-2011. Following completion of the renovation work with a total budget of € 37 million, the grand reopening of the Flora was on 12 June.
The Flora in Cologne offers a gastronomic experience to delight the senses in a historic atmosphere.
